AJIN: Demi-Human | Netflix Official Site
and predictions on who I think will end up with who in terms of romantic relationships at the end. Having watched Ajin since the beginning. When you're head-over-heels in love with your partner, it can be hard to even imagine the possibility of breaking up — but the unfortunate truth. I have watched the anime until the very last episode so far, which is the 8th of the second season, while I also keep on reading the manga (it is still on going).
Are these Ajin just random phenomena of nature or were they purposely sent to Earth to destroy it? Since their first discovery, several other Ajin appearances have been reported worldwide. For the majority of citizens though, these creatures are less reality and more of something you see every once in a while in a textbook or on the news.
This is how it was for the young protagonist of the series, Kei.
Ajin: Kei and Kaito Romance? | Anime Amino
That was until a sudden turn of events changed his life forever Ajin is a supernatural anime full of complex ideas about life and death, as well as the dark side of human nature. What does it mean to truly be human? It's not entirely clear to me whether the first movie covers the anime series and the other two are new content, or whether the three movies are supposed to be recaps of the whole series maybe there are supposed to be three anime seasons of Ajin, and each of the movies recaps one of them?Time to Go? (Ending a Relationship) - Tapping with Brad Yates
What's the relation between the manga, the anime series, and the movies given that two of the three movies haven't been released yet, that part may be harder to answer? In the next scene, after Tosaki leaves and he takes Kei's snack with himKei is shown looking out the window up at the moon while thinking of Kaito, followed shortly by Kaito in jail also looking out the window up at the moon.
This was a subtle, but symbolic scene, and given the theme of Season 2, with Kei changing his perspective and admitting that he actually does care about people, it could be a sign of things to come.
For a while in Season 2, Kei lost his power to summon his IBM, because he was paralyzed by fear and didn't want to fight Saito anymore, as he didn't see a point.
But after being saved by Kaito at the hospital, Kei snapped out of it. This is rather significant because Kei had given up on fighting Sato. What Kei needed was something, or someone, worth fighting for, and Kaito's endless kindness to him was a reminder that there's still purpose for him; Kaito is and always will be there for him, so Kei must keep fighting.
Sato then says he's going to kill everyone Kei has ever cared about, including Kaito.

After this, Kei has a Flood Phenomenon, which is triggered by a massive amount of emotion. Kei, using emotion, caring about someone other than himself, beat Sato. What a hell of a way to end the Season. Top 3 Romance Predictions: Not surprisingly, Kei has a dream about Kaito saving him again, and Kei actually shows emotion, something that is rare for him to do towards anyone other than himself. Finally I would like to point out one of the most powerful scenes I've seen in a long time, where Kei was being tortured to death, but since he is immortal he will just come back to life.
Nonetheless, Kei is going through absolute hell, the worst pain of his entire life.
Tanaka contacts Kei telepathically, and tried to get Kei to use his power to kill the doctors torturing him, but right before he does it, Kei sees an image of Kaito's face in his mind, and he stops. Kei says he can't kill the doctor because Kaito might hate him if he did that, and Kaito is the one person in the world he will never betray.
Kei shows a rare display of emotion and bursts into tears saying that Kaito risked his life for him, "the only life he has," and that he will risk everything for Kaito too. As a bonus I decided to write down the lyrics to the song that plays at the end of each Ajin episode, and it's actually interesting that it talks entirely about love. It could be just a gimmick, it could be that Kei is referring to himself, or it could be an actual reference to Kaito, since it does show various images throughout the song that imply that, such as showing the image of when Kei was being tortured, which is when Kei has his emotional breakdown over Kaito.
Only the author can say, and he probably won't reveal anything like that, if it does happen, until the end of the entire show. Anyway, here are the lyrics to the end song!
No matter how dark it gets, I'll be searching for my one and only light.
